On June 24, 2008, the Infocommunication Union Council endorsed organization of the Mobile Commerce 2008 conference

In the framework of the mobile payments question discussion, Ivan Kuztetsov, the Mobile Payments Project manager, made a suggestion to hold the first Russian large-scale conference on mobile commerce. The project participants’ representatives (JSC VympelCom, JSC Delta Telecom, OJSC MegaFon, OJSC Mobile TeleSystems, OJSC Mockovskaya Sotovaya Svyaz, PC Intellect Telecom and JSCB Tavrichesky) present at the meeting, supported the project manager’s initiative and made a resolution to organize international conference Mobile Commerce 2008.
