Mission

The Mobile Payments Project was set up within the framework of the Infocommunication Union on September 27, 2007 for providing practical realization of the mobile commerce experimental zone involving mobile network operators and banking organizations.

The main objective of the Project is the mobile commerce development in Russia by means of elaboration, creation and maintainability of payment systems using individual accounts of mobile operators’ subscribers together with unimpeded development of the mobile banking on the basis of the Universal Payment Platform Concept.

The main goals of the Project are:

• research and development of technical solutions for mobile commerce
• formulating suggestions for regulatory policy
• collaboration with international non-commercial organizations regarding mobile payments
